Get Hot Keep Playing Roulette

DON’T QUIT WHILE YOU’RE HOT

Many poker and blackjack players will swear that you should never quit while you’re hot, and that is true in most circumstances. However, a game like roulette that is largely based on chance doesn’t allow for reckless play because you’re having a “hot streak”. If you’ve ever played roulette, you know how quickly things can change and how much money can be lost in a matter of minutes. There are some circumstances in which you should continue to play roulette while you’re hot, but for the most part, this is considered a bad idea.

One instance in which you should feel free to continue play if you feel that you’re on a streak is if you haven’t yet reached your win or loss benchmark for the day. As long as your winning streak occurs before you’ve reached one of your daily benchmarks, feel free to exploit your streak and build your bankroll. It’s important that if you’re on a streak, you pay very close attention to your win/loss goals for the day as it is very easy to ignore those benchmarks when you’re in the thick of a major streak of good luck.

Unfortunately, many players mistakenly fall into the trap of a “hot streak” and by the time the streak is over, their bankroll is ancient history. The test of a disciplined roulette player is how he reacts to winning. Longevity in this game relies on your ability to abide by your own rules, and win your money by improving your odds rather than taking advantage of some myth of good luck. Roulette is a game of chance, and you happen to be at the table during an opportune time, but you should not let that instance of chance determine your bankroll for the entire week. If roulette is based more on skill, rather than chance, you will not want to quit while you’re ahead but because roulette relies on a tiny plastic ball to determine the outcome, it’s best that you err on the side of caution.

Some players will ignore this information and play when they feel “hot”, and even if that’s what you decide, you should never increase your limits while you’re hot. As long as you adhere to your win/lose benchmarks for the day and play within your limits, you should be able to minimize your lost. In addition, you should quickly assess a ‘hot streak’ by looking at your bets. If you’re placing a variety of outside bets, then your chances of winning have increased and you are not on a streak of any kind. If this is the case, you should be extra careful to adhere to your benchmarks.
