Roulette: A game of many strategies

You will find that there are more strategies in the game of Roulette than any other casino game out there. Since the goal of the game is to beat the roulette wheel, having a strategy at your disposal is most certainly a good idea. Yet don’t constantly rely on some sort of system to win you tons of money. It is true that you will gain an edge by using some sort of strategic system, but some casinos will catch on and try to do something about it.

What you want to do is win and stay ahead no matter how large or how small the margin is. The smaller the margin, the more realistic the goal and the more likely you are to achieve it. Thing is, it is a game of chance, so there is no particular “system” that will guarantee you constant winnings just as in any game of chance. At least your losses can decrease, but not be entirely diminished.

The most common strategy is the Martingale strategy and it goes like this:

  • What this strategy entails is the doubling of a bet after a loss. Simply said, this means you can cover all of your losses and add a little more on top of that to come out on top in the end, even if it is in the most miniscule way. For example: Say you bet $1 and then you lose four consecutive bets, but then you win the fifth bet. As long as you keep doubling your bets after the loss, the money won on the fifth bet is $16. That means you have recovered the $15 lost on your previous four bets and also gained $1. The only problem with this system is that it is possible to keep losing and to run out of money.
  • Compared to other systems, the Martingale strategy comes out ahead in the end, but sometimes causes for significant loss. It is entirely up to the bettor what he or she wants to do as far as this strategy goes. You can continue to double your bets until you win in order to recover your losses, but sometimes you may need to walk away with a substantial loss if you don’t have enough money to cover the next bet. That is sometimes the case, but with successful double bets, the rewards can be great.

This is just one of the well-known strategies used in Roulette as well as Craps and other casino games. You may have found yourself playing online games or other types of games in which you have automatically doubled or decreased your bets depending on the type of winning streak you’re having. That is exactly what the Martingale system is whether you already knew that or not. Just be sure to be cautious in the amounts you bet because you may be doubling those bets for quite a while before a win comes your way. Remember, Roulette is a game of chance, so no one knows where the ball will land.
