Keep reading to find out which video poker games are available and how they differ.

Jacks or Better

Just as the name suggests, the winning hand should be Jacks or Better. Jacks or Better is the most popular video poker game, mostly due to its ultra high payout of more than 99%. Payouts for this game begin with Jacks and increase with every hand that’s better than Jacks. To give you an idea of how well the payoff in Jacks or Better is, consider this: if you insert one coin in the machine and get a Royal flush, the payout is 250 coins! In addition to having an excellent payout, Jacks or Better is easy to learn and prepares you for more difficult video poker games.

Deuces Wild

Another wildly popular video poker game is Deuces Wild in which all the 2’s in a 52-card deck (total of 4) are “wild” cards. Wild cards can be substituted for any other card to make a better hand. The payout for Deuces Wild varies because of the additional “wild” cards, and you will only receive a payout if you get a set or higher. If played with perfect strategy, the payout on Deuces Wild can exceed 100%.

Bonus/Double Bonus

The games of Bonus Poker and Double Bonus Poker are variations of Jacks or Better. Bonus Poker has an additional payout for four of a kind, but the catch is that after you’ve discarded and replaced cards in order to win, you must have a pair of Jacks or better. Double Bonus Poker is quite simple with the major exception being that the bonus is awarded for four Aces. Although the payout is acceptable, the odds aren’t great that you’ll get those hands.

All of the video poker games mentioned above have a payout of 98% or greater with perfect strategy. Obviously, the payout is slightly lower for lesser play, but nevertheless video poker is great way to learn the games while earning a few extra dollars.
